Smangus (God's Tribe)

Smangus, known as "God's Tribe," is located deep in the mountains of Jianshi Township and is one of Taiwan's most remote and mysterious villages. This area boasts a spectacular cherry blossom forest, where every spring, the mountain cherry blossoms and Formosan cherry trees blanket the entire valley. Combined with the refreshing high-altitude climate and pristine forest landscape, the flower-viewing experience here is truly breathtaking. The village is predominantly inhabited by the Atayal people, who are dedicated to preserving their traditional culture and natural ecology. Most of the cherry blossoms in Smangus are concentrated along the hiking trail leading to the sacred trees.
