Hong Kong Hiking Dragon's Back - Big Wave Bay Transportation Guide

Transportation 🚇: 1⃣️ Take the MTR to Shau Kei Wan Station, Exit A3. Right in front of the MTR exit, you can take Bus No. 9 to To Tei Wan stop. The combined MTR and bus trip takes about two hours, with the MTR about one and a half hours and the bus about twenty minutes. 🚌 You can pay the bus fare with Alipay. Returning from Big Wave Bay to Shau Kei Wan by minibus only accepts Octopus card or cash. 2⃣️ There are restrooms at the bus stop. After reaching the Dragon's Back check-in point, head left along the ridge line towards Tai Tam Gap. Walking with breaks to the Tai Tam Gap fork takes about two to three hours. From there, it’s another 2.5 kilometers, about one hour, to Big Wave Bay beach, including a stretch of road and a downhill wild path. Big Wave Bay beach 🏖️ is relatively small, with big waves suitable for surfing 🏄‍♀️. There are stairs nearby leading upward, which should reach Siu Sai Wan. You can climb high to see the sea but cannot see the sunset 🌄. 3⃣️ To return to Shau Kei Wan, you can take Bus No. 9 or a minibus. Minibuses run more frequently but do not accept Alipay, only cash or Octopus card. Cash fare is 13.6 HKD.
