Help! Surfing at Big Wave Bay in Hong Kong is way too addictive! I spent the weekend riding the waves with Discovery Outdoors, and it completely opened up a new world for me 🏄♂️. Beginners, don’t worry—our coach said most people can try standing on the board on their first attempt, and I actually managed to do it! Coach Billy was incredibly patient! Before hitting the water, he guided us through a thorough warm-up, and during surfing, he provided constant instruction. Even after repeatedly falling into the sea, I wasn’t discouraged. The moment I stood up on the surfboard and flashed a victory sign to the coach and my friends, the sense of accomplishment was off the charts! Plus, this place is perfect for group fun—competing with friends in secret battles made me want to surf even more, despite the falls! Big Wave Bay is an outdoor paradise! Besides surfing, the nearby snack shops and small bars have an amazing vibe. After a tiring session, grabbing a cold drink and enjoying the sea breeze is super chill. Getting there is also super convenient—just take the red minibus from Shau Kei Wan station, and you’ll arrive in 20 minutes! There are changing rooms and showers right by the beach, so there’s nothing to worry about.
