This is a good option if you are in transit and have some time to kill, as it is close to the airport. The cable car is the best way to reach Lantau Island. Easily accessible from Tung Chung MTR. Lantau Island has a lot to offer, from beaches to hiking trails, nature and more. There is also the historic Tai O fishing village, which is like stepping back in time. You can get around the island by bus. If you are short on time, then I would suggest doing the highlights, which are the Tian Tan Buddha statue and Po Lin Monastery.
