Exhibition of Canton Porcelain Production Techniques

Today we will introduce the special exhibition "Guangcai Production Technique" at Sam Tung Uk in Tsuen Wan. Guangcai production originated in Guangzhou, and its products were one of the porcelains exported during the mid-Qing Dynasty. The designs are mainly hand-painted Chinese characters and stories, flowers, mullets, insects, landscapes, and traditional auspicious patterns as decorative borders. Later, at the request of foreign guests, patterns such as heraldry and garden flowers were added, integrating Chinese and Western cultural elements to create a unique style.
