Transportation Guide: MTR - All Stations Must-Visit Attractions: Central Market, Mid-Levels Escalator, Tai Kwun, Pottinger Street 💞 Recommended Reasons: Central is located in the heart of Hong Kong Island. It is home to many major commercial banks and political centers, yet it also preserves numerous historical buildings and alleyways. The blend of old and new architecture and transportation creates a striking yet harmonious aesthetic. Hollywood Road's Lan Kwai Fong is filled with street art and murals. The streets are bustling with influencers who exude confidence, making the awkwardness someone else's problem. Central Market has been revitalized by the government into a modern marketplace. It's more like a food court and bazaar than a traditional market. The long, long Mid-Levels Escalator is a blessing for tired feet, freeing you from climbing stairs. Perhaps Tony Leung and Faye Wong thought the same. Tai Kwun, the former police headquarters building, features a mango tree. Legend has it that officers who ate the mangoes from this tree would get promoted. The architecture is stylish, and the site includes a police station, courthouse, and prison, offering a complete "one-stop service" experience! Pottinger Street, a Grade I historic site in Hong Kong, is a steep slope at a 45-degree angle. It exudes a strong sense of history with its small stalls and the laid-back vibe of old Hong Kong. (I remember losing three moms here once!) Landmark and IFC are filled with luxury brands that seem to flaunt their unattainable prices. Central Star Ferry Pier allows you to take the Star Ferry to Victoria Harbor, Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui, and various outlying islands. Finally, I reached the Hong Kong Observation Wheel. Despite visiting so many times, I’ve never actually ridden it! Let’s leave it as a wish for next time. If you want to experience the clash of modernity and history, Central is a must-visit!
