Hidden Gem! A Guide to the Treasures of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin

Having visited countless museums in Hong Kong, my favorite has to be the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin! The exhibits are so diverse and frequently updated, and the best part is that most of them are free 🆓. Even for the occasional paid exhibitions, it only costs HKD 10! Getting a museum pass makes it even more convenient to visit anytime. On weekdays, it feels like you have the whole place to yourself. The air conditioning is excellent, and there are plenty of benches to rest on when you're tired, making the experience top-notch! This year marks the 100th anniversary of Jin Yong's birth, and the museum is hosting an incredible Jin Yong character sculpture exhibition. It's a paradise for Jin Yong fans, as you can admire the lifelike sculptures and guess which martial arts heroes they represent. Getting there is super convenient. I highly recommend taking the Tuen Ma Line to Che Kung Temple Station. From there, just cross a bridge, and you're right at the museum! Avoid making the mistake I did on my first visit by walking from Sha Tin Station on the East Rail Line—it’s easy to get lost 😅.
