Ocean Park Play Guide 1. After entering the entrance, turn right to enter an aquarium. There is a photo spot at the entrance. After leaving the aquarium, you can pay for photos if needed, with an additional photo frame costing HKD 220. Then, see some beautiful fish, lobsters, seahorses, etc., suitable for young children. The leafy sea dragon inside is very cute and really looks like a piece of seaweed. 2. After exiting the aquarium, you will see the Panda Pavilion. Since the kids were not interested in pandas and there was a queue, we did not go in. You can enter as needed; the queue is not long. 3. Walking further inside, there is a fork in the road. On the right is the Ocean Express train, and on the left is the cable car. Both can take you to the Summit amusement park to enjoy the rides. Straight ahead is a panda interactive experience center, which may require queuing when crowded. If the kids are older, besides seeing the pandas, it is recommended to take the Ocean Express train up the mountain to play while it’s less crowded, then take the cable car down to enjoy the scenery. 4. If the kids are younger, you can walk right from the Panda Pavilion to enter Whiskers Harbour, where you can ride a small train, see foxes, elephants, turtles, and some birds. After playing, you need to walk back and then take the cable car or Ocean Express train up the mountain. 5. The Summit amusement area is divided into four themed zones: Polar Adventure, Thrill Mountain, Rainforest, and Marine World. From the train exit, take the escalator on the left to the amusement area. Thrill Mountain features rides like the Rapids, Abyss, Raging River, Turbo Drop, and Beat Street. These are all thrilling rides with height restrictions, mostly requiring a minimum height of 1.2 meters. The most thrilling is Thrill Mountain, which requires a height of 1.4 meters or above. 6. In the Rainforest, the Tropical Rapids ride is worth trying, but it really can’t compare to the rafting in Hangzhou. It’s a very gentle ride. You will get wet, but not from water splashing in the channel; it’s from the water jets on both sides of the channel. If you don’t have a raincoat, just wear a sun-protective shirt. 7. Marine World features the Ocean Tower, where you can go up high to enjoy the view. It’s not a drop tower, just sightseeing. There are also the Ferris Wheel, Sky Swing, Wild Tornado, and more. These rides sound thrilling but are actually small amusement rides for kids and are not scary. Some are currently closed. Next to it is the Shark Aquarium, where you can see various sharks. 8. After leaving the Shark Aquarium, walk back to the Ocean Theatre, where there are daily dolphin and sea lion shows. Download the Ocean Park Hong Kong app to check the showtimes.
