Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre @ Dinosaur Reception Room

🏖️ Environment/Facilities: The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has been conducting fossil excavation work at Chek Chau, uncovering about 30 rocks containing dinosaur bone fossils. Restoration work is currently underway to facilitate in-depth research on the dinosaur fossils, identifying the species and habits of the dinosaurs. The "Dinosaur Reception Room" brings us together here to explore Hong Kong's dinosaur stories. 💞 Reasons for Recommendation: Although Hong Kong is small, dinosaur fossil footprints can still be found here. This is very rare. The Hong Kong government announced the first discovery of dinosaur fossils at Chek Chau in the northeastern waters of the New Territories Geopark. According to preliminary identification by experts from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the fossils date back to the Cretaceous period. This exhibition offers a glimpse behind the scenes of heritage workers and Hong Kong's history, making it especially meaningful.
