Take advantage of the holiday to enjoy a slow-paced lifestyle in the Star Street area of Wan Chai. Stroll around the streets and indulge in a tasteful and refined lunch. I chose Maison es, located at the end of a slope. The restaurant features a French countryside style, with flowers adorning the entrance, creating a secluded and charming ambiance. The lunch menu offers a 3-course meal ($358 per person), including an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The meal started with two types of bread, brioche and sourdough, which were incredibly delicious. The bread was soft and tender, and paired with butter, it became even more fragrant. **Japanese Spot Prawn** The appetizer consisted of spot prawn and scallop sashimi, complemented by salmon roe, seaweed, and crispy rice. The dish was bursting with freshness and offered a rich texture. **Garden Peas** Another appetizer option featured an exquisitely plated dish with green panna cotta as the base, topped with asparagus, quail eggs, salad greens, and a balsamic vinegar dressing. The taste was refreshing and appetizing. **Silver Pomfret Fillet** For the main course, we ordered the silver pomfret fillet. The fish was tender and smooth, marinated with sweet miso paste to enhance its natural flavor. It was served with a sauce made from luminous squid and shrimp paste, adding a savory touch. **Spanish Pork Loin** Another main course option was the slow-cooked Spanish pork loin. The slow-cooking process made the pork incredibly tender, paired with orzo pasta mixed with pineapple salsa and cheese sauce, creating a rich and layered flavor. Desserts included macarons, kiwi sorbet with vanilla panna cotta, and yuzu ice cream. The desserts were of high quality, beautifully presented, and perfect for Instagram-worthy photos.
