The volcanic eruption hundreds of millions of years ago created the unique landscape of hexagonal stone pillars, and the uneven stone edges have since spread all over the coast. 🔥🔥🔥 Pobin Island was originally a cape with rocks extending into the ocean, but the erosion of the waves split it from the mainland like a giant axe, and the volcanic rock pillars penetrated straight into the seabed at a nearly vertical angle. Standing on the top of the mountain, facing the high cliffs and the surging waves, it is an overwhelming feeling that is difficult to describe in words. 🗓️Itinerary: Take KMB No. 94 from Sai Kung Pier to Pak Tam Chung (there are KMB special routes directly from Diamond Hill/Chung Hung/Shatin/Tsuen Wan/Tai Po on Saturdays, Sundays and Hong Kong holidays), and transfer to green minibus 9A to High Island Reservoir East Dam. 🥰 ! Please note that minibus 9A only operates on Saturdays, Sundays and Hong Kong holidays. On weekdays, you can only take a taxi from Sai Kung Pier/Pak Tam Chung and other places. Hiking route: East Dam of High Island Reservoir (reservoir, East Dam, hexagonal columns, anchor stone embankment) - Huashan Viewpoint - Pobin Island - return to East Dam along the original route. 🏖️ Hiking Notes: There are two routes to Pobianzhou Mountain, corresponding to two entrances. One is a shortcut, located next to the pavilion behind the giant blue wave-breaking block, but it is not recommended because it is extremely difficult and unsafe. I recommend the second long route. The entrance is a concrete staircase with railings opposite the minibus station. After reaching the top, it turns into a flat dirt road. Although you need to climb one more hill, the road condition is much better and it is relatively easy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huashan Viewpoint is an excellent camera position to overlook Dongba. The Tiffany blue High Island Reservoir lies peacefully between the mountains, while the other side stretches out to the vast ocean and the turbulent bay. Separated by a dam, there are countless changes. 😘😘 After crossing the first hill, you will reach a three-way intersection. There is a sign pointing the way to Pobianzhou. Just follow the sign. Stay on the main road throughout the journey and avoid taking shortcuts. 😎 It is strongly recommended to bring trekking poles to protect your knees, as you need to climb over two hills. 🥰 The round trip is 2 kilometers (about 2 hours), with a total climb of 200 meters. If you have enough energy, you can also visit the nearby Langke Bay or Baila Bay. 🏖️🏖️⭐️ Be careful with sun protection, there are only low shrubs on both sides of the mountain road, and there is almost no shade.
