What can you do in Hong Kong for a two-day trip during the National Day holiday

1⃣ Border Crossing: I chose the Luohu Port of Entry, which allows for an early arrival to avoid long queues. I got there at eight in the morning and quickly went through the process. Health declarations and a Hong Kong and Macau Travel Permit are required. The SIM card I purchased online could be activated after crossing. 2⃣ Currency Exchange and Transportation Payment: You can reserve currency exchange at your local bank in advance or exchange it in Hong Kong. There are plenty of places to exchange for Hong Kong dollars. I exchanged 1000 Hong Kong dollars at my local bank and didn't spend it all; for transportation payments, the subway accepts WeChat and Alipay, and for buses and taxis, I used Hong Kong dollars. Many shops also support WeChat and Alipay, so I used a mix of mobile payments and cash. 3⃣ Over 30,000 steps on the first day of the National Day: I took the subway to Mong Kok East and after wandering around for a while, I had dim sum in Mong Kok. Many shops were still closed. The approximate itinerary for the day was: Mong Kok➡Yau Ma Tei➡Kowloon Park➡Tsim Sha Tsui (Chungking Mansions is here, those curious can go in and take a look)➡Hong Kong Space Museum and Art Museum (advance reservation required)➡Avenue of Stars (the photo spot similar to the one used by Li Ka-shing is here, and you can also watch the Victoria Harbour night view in the evening)➡Golden Bauhinia Square➡Kennedy Town (there's a photography spot above the basketball court at Exit C, where I watched the sunset by the coast)➡The University of Hong Kong (Exit C1 for the centennial campus route)➡Causeway Bay (the hotel was conveniently nearby) 4⃣ Watching the sunrise at the beach on the second day: I took a taxi to Big Wave Bay at around 5 am: Big Wave Bay Beach (the sunrise was around 6 am, and people gradually came to surf, the sunrise and surfing were very cool)➡Shek O Beach (there's a bus from Big Wave Bay to here, the filming location for Stephen Chow's 'King of Comedy', and the colorful houses are great for sightseeing and photos)➡Shau Kei Wan (direct bus from Shek O) 5⃣ Returning to Shenzhen via the Luohu Port of Entry: I exchanged some Hong Kong dollars, as some shops did not accept WeChat or Alipay. I didn't feel the need to buy an Octopus card. Hong Kong is really photogenic, with movie scenes everywhere, suitable for a Citywalk with friends.
