One day after work, I went to Tsim Sha Tsui East to have dinner with her. We went to this nostalgic Japanese izakaya in Nanyang Center that has been open for more than 20 years🏮. This is my first time trying squid cartilage, it's so delicious. Mixed with mentaiko salad dressing, it is a bit spicy and is a great appetizer. The dried cod is very crispy and has a delicious flavor. You can eat it with some salad dressing with shichimi powder. Children will probably like this snack too. The fried red bean fish is so crispy that you can eat it with the bones. No fishy smell at all. Add some lemon juice to enhance the flavor of the fish. Personally, I think dried cod and red bean pond fish are both very good snacks to go with wine. The chef prepared a large sashimi platter for two people, including seasonal live rock oysters, sweet snapper, cod milt, monkfish liver, and cuttlefish, which are seldom eaten in normal times and are quite special. The live rock oysters are so big, as big as half a palm, and so creamy. The chef has good knife skills and cuts the sweet sea bream into thin slices that are crystal clear. It goes well with sour juice. The cod milt tastes a bit like chicken, and it tastes good with wasabi soy sauce. I tried the cod liver with spicy radish sauce, sour juice and wasabi soy sauce, and I felt that the wasabi soy sauce was the best match. The taste is fresh and rich, and it is definitely not a MSG soup. Udon is not too tender. Mushrooms are refreshing. All the food is of high quality, no wonder regular customers keep coming back.
