Hong Kong's arsenal has over 100 years of history and has many highlights to check out

Another historic site worth visiting is found in Hong Kong: the Victoria Barracks Arsenal (English: Explosives Magazine of the Victoria Barracks; now known as the Hong Kong Jockey Club Restored Arsenal), located in Admiralty, Hong Kong Island. The Arsenal is attached to Victoria Barracks. The four buildings were built between the 1860s and 1930s for the development and storage of explosives. After the British Garrison in Hong Kong moved out of the barracks in 1979, the old arsenal became a government workshop and warehouse. It was later revitalized and preserved by the Asia Society Hong Kong Chapter and converted into the new venue of the Asia Society Hong Kong Center in 2012. Highlight 1: The preserved track was originally used to transport gunpowder in the arsenal, which was transported to Arsenal Street in Admiralty via an overhead ropeway. Highlight 2: Arsenal A was transformed into an art exhibition hall. Highlight 3: The naval boundary stone in the arsenal bears witness to the long-term use of the facility by the British Royal Navy. Highlight 4: The original arched lighting gallery in Arsenal B surrounds Arsenal B like a secret passage.
