Exhibition | Hong Kong Palace Museum | Hundreds of Delicates: Cartier and Women

Because of #Cartier, Wof once again set foot in the #HongKongPalaceMuseum. After entering, head directly to Hall 8. The exhibition "A Hundred Varieties of Delicate Art - Cartier and Women" will run until August 14. The standard adult ticket for the special exhibition is HK$120 each. This is the first large-scale exhibition focusing on the status and influence of women in the history of Cartier. The eye is first attracted by a row of 13 crowns, headbands and headdresses. Traditionally, the tiara is a headdress worn by royal women and noble ladies of prominent status and is used on formal occasions. By the early 20th century, non-royal women began wearing tiaras to formal balls, masquerade balls, and other gatherings. The headband was specially made in 1924, with natural pearls in the middle, which makes it more distinctive. In the 19th and 20th centuries, Chinese culture and art had a profound influence on Cartier, and the Chinese-style cosmetic box of 1928 can be said to be a representative work. Cartier has used dragon and phoenix motifs in many of its jewellery pieces, including its 2011 dragon watch. The exhibition also displays collections of Pansy Ho, Brigitte Lin and Carina Lau.
