Historic Buildings in Stanley Murray House

Murray House is a Victorian-style building in Hong Kong. It was named after Sir John Murray, who was the Director of Ordnance when it was built. The building was originally located at the junction of Garden Road and Queensway in Central, Hong Kong Island, and was later moved to the Stanley waterfront. The Murray Building combines Chinese and Western architectural designs, using Western columns and Chinese tiled roofs. This was the most common building design in early colonial Hong Kong, and the Murray House is the oldest surviving building of its kind; it was built using locally quarried granite.
