Uchi Coffee (Tai Wai)

We waited for Uchi Coffee in Tai Wai to open its doors at 11:30am as we were afraid of the long queue that would start forming on weekends. Sure enough, the small minimalistic coffee shop started to get pretty full after just a while, so maybe it’s a better idea to visit their other bigger branches instead 🤓 The hojicha souffle was the main reason for our visit and it surely didn’t disappoint! The richer toasted taste of the hojicha ice cream on the side complemented the lighter and fluffy hojicha souffle well, and we gobbled up the whole thing in no time 😋 The salmon ochazuke came on a wooden tray with a small dish of wood ear mushrooms as an appetizer. The corn, seawood, salmon, katsuobushi (bonito flakes) and rice were soaked in a flavorful broth, effectively enhancing the simple ingredients. Although it was not super fulfilling, the portion was definitely reasonable to its price 🤑 We added $20 for special beverages on the menu.
