A One-Hour Trip from Da Nang! Experiencing Vietnam in Hoi An Old Town

Hoi An Old Town, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is located about 30km from Da Nang. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get there by car from downtown Da Nang. There are also convenient transportation options directly from Da Nang International Airport, making it an easy place to visit. Unlike the modern and vibrant atmosphere of Da Nang, Hoi An boasts a quaint and cozy ambiance, offering a charming place where you can deeply feel the tradition and history of Vietnam. As you walk through Hoi An Old Town, the first things that catch your eye are the rickshaws weaving through the streets and the lanterns brightly illuminating the city. Rickshaws, a traditional Vietnamese mode of transportation, provide tourists with a unique experience of slowly touring the city. Riding a rickshaw through the narrow alleys of the Old Town feels like a journey back in time. Lanterns are a symbol of Hoi An, and on the day of the full moon each month, a festival is held that bathes the entire city in magical light. During this festival, it is a tradition to write wishes on lanterns and float them on the river, symbolizing the Vietnamese people's hopes for luck and peace. You can also participate in making your own lanterns, which is a special experience to create lasting memories during your trip. During the day, I rode a rickshaw through the alleys, admiring the old buildings and traditional houses, and every corner of the city was beautiful. In the evening, as the lanterns lit up, the city transformed into a scene from a fairy tale. When I floated a lantern on the river and made a wish, I felt a sense of inexplicable emotion. Hoi An is not just a tourist destination but a special place where you can feel the tradition and warmth of Vietnam with your whole being.
