Magnificent Scenery + Zig Zag Adventure — A Day Trip to Mount Wellington

When visiting Hobart, Mount Wellington is undoubtedly a must-visit hotspot for breathtaking views! We took an early ride up to the summit lookout, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. From there, you can overlook the entire city of Hobart and the Derwent River. On clear days, the view stretches endlessly, so beautiful that you won’t want to leave! After snapping some photos, we embarked on a challenging yet highly rewarding hiking journey — the Zig Zag Track! This trail starts by descending along the mountain ridge, featuring some rocky steps and rugged terrain. The scenery is spectacular, and as you hike, you’ll encounter plenty of native plants and massive boulders, making it a perfect spot for photos. After descending via the Zig Zag Track, we continued through forest trails and eventually reached the area near Cascade Brewery. The entire hike took us nearly 5 hours. Although we got slightly lost at one point, it was an unforgettable experience! Tips: • Bring water, wear hiking shoes, and don’t forget a map or use the AllTrails App for navigation. • Weather changes quickly, and it’s windy at the summit, so remember to bring a jacket!
