Hida-Furakawa: A small town not to be missed

#TravelAbroad “Want to sleep in a ryokan” is the starting point that made Mama B & Prawit san accidentally stop by Hida Furukawa…search for accommodation and found a deal of Ryokan Yatsusankan without dinner, which was very suitable…without delay, book and pay because it was on the way back from Shirakawa-go on our trip. Our travel plan that day was very focused on going to take pictures in Shirakawa-go Village, a village registered as a World Heritage Site, and spent the whole day until evening. We drove out of Shirakawa-go at almost 6pm to check in at the ryokan in Hida Furukawa, which took about 1 hour to drive…when we arrived, we just read the policy that check-in is until 6pm…..😅😅😅 Oh no, will we be able to stay? Luckily, the owner was still waiting. This ryokan is right next to the river…at that time, we were very hungry for dinner…in addition to driving to park the car, the owner also drove us to a sushi and teppanyaki restaurant in the city center, where most restaurants were closed. Because we arrived after 6:00 p.m. At dusk, we couldn't see anything in the city... The next morning, when we woke up, we opened the curtains to see the atmosphere...🤩😆🅾️Ⓜ️G Snow falling white, a million-dollar view 8:00 a.m., we went to use the onsen, which is both indoor and outdoor, and soaked in the hot spring while the snow was falling lightly. I really wanted to take a video to show you, but unfortunately they didn't allow using phones. 9:00 a.m. is Breakfast time... indescribable. I told myself that I would come back again if I had the chance. 10:00 a.m. is Check-out time. Mama B was very lazy before the wheels turned to drive around the city. Hida Furukawa City is located in Gifu Prefecture. It is a small city north of Takayama City. Inside Furukawa City, the Miyagawa River flows through and there is also an old town area from the Edo period that has been preserved as well. We started the tour by stopping by a small canal along the old wooden houses called Seto, which usually has koi swimming in it. But we went in the winter when it was snowing and the water in the canal would freeze, so we didn't see any koi. Because I had to move to another place Then I walked around the morning market along the river, walked around the town along Shirakabe Dozogai Street, and ended with a walk around the market to try Hida beef, which I must say is very tender, not inferior to Kobe beef. I recommend it. It is a small town that still has an old-fashioned atmosphere that is worth a walk.
