Feidong county in Hefei city, eastern China's Anhui province, held a traditional lantern performance to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. To celebrate the Year of the Snake, a 128-meter-long illuminated snake-shaped lantern was brought to life by over 100 performers with their intricate movements. Recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008, the snake lantern combines folk art, music, dance, handicrafts, beliefs, and oral literature.
