Sun Xiaomei's Former Residence, Longmen Ancient Town, Hangzhou, Zhejiang

Sun Xiaomei's Former Residence, also known as "Yishun Hall," was built during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. It was the residence of Sun Rongdi, the second grandson of Sun Bingyuan, a successful candidate in the imperial examination. As Sun Rongdi's courtesy name was Hengfeng, the residence is also called "Hengfeng Residence." Locals refer to it as the "Seven Generations of Scholarly Family." The renowned anti-Japanese martyr Sun Xiaomei and the modern scholar and writer He Manzi were both born here. Yishun: Yi means pleasant and harmonious. Shun means respectful and obedient. The Book of Rites states: "When arriving, lower your voice and speak pleasantly, inquire about their clothing and comfort"; and "If parents err, lower your voice and speak gently, offer advice softly." Yishun signifies filial piety.
