Hakodate Goryokaku Park

I went to Goryokaku, one of the must-visit tourist spots in Hakodate! Goryokaku Park was built as a defense base against foreign ships when the port of Hakodate was opened. The castle is shaped like a star, with each side measuring about 300 meters, and castles of this shape are very rare in Japan! There are many castles like this in Europe, so you can see that Hakodate was heavily influenced by foreign countries here too. You can also enjoy a leisurely stroll through the large park!
