It took seven years to complete, starting in 1857 (Ansei 4) 😳 The Hakodate Magistrate's Office (Hakodate Government Office) was built in the center, protected by a star-shaped earthwork and moat. This star shape is famous! Currently, about one-third of the building has been restored in the same place with the same design, construction method, and size, and the technology is amazing!
