Goryokaku Park is a real place.

Goryokaku Park in Hakodate, Hokkaido, was designed in the shape of a star to allow for more artillery placements and reduce the blind spots of the cannons. Goryokaku Tower is 107 meters high and opened to visitors in 2006. The observation deck is located 86–90 meters above the ground and offers excellent views of Mount Hakodate, Tsugaru Strait, and the Yokotsu Mountains to the north. There are shops and restaurants on the first and second floors of the tower, and a history exhibition of Goryokaku on the observation deck. Goryokaku Park is a great place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the beautiful scenery all year round.
