Yang Zirong Martyr's Tomb

The Yang Zirong Martyr's Tomb is located in the Yang Zirong Martyr's Cemetery in Hailin City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. The cemetery is solemn and respectful, with towering pine trees. Ascending the steps, you will see the Martyr's Monument standing on the top of the mountain. The monument is 8.1 meters high, symbolizing the "August 1st" Army Day. The front of the monument is inscribed with seven large characters, "Monument to the Revolutionary Martyrs," written by calligrapher Zou Wenxiu. The names of Yang Zirong, Malutian, Gao Bo, and other martyrs are engraved on the back of the monument. The monument is made of granite and surrounded by stone corridors and iron chains. 20 meters behind the monument is the tomb of Yang Zirong. The tombstone in front of the tomb is made of granite and is 3.1 meters high, symbolizing Yang Zirong's age of 31 when he died. Yang Zirong, formerly known as Yang Zonggui, was born in 1917 in Ninghai Town, Muping County, Shandong Province. In 1929, he went to Northeast China to do hard labor, and spent 12 years in Dandong, Changbai Mountain, Yanji, and Mudanjiang. Around 1942, he returned to Shandong to get married. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, he went to Northeast China with the uprising naval forces of Liugong Island and joined the Communist Party of China on the way. After arriving in Hailin Town, this force was reorganized into the Second Regiment of the Mudanjiang Military Region. Yang Zirong participated in dozens of bandit suppression battles in Maqiaohezi, Xingshutun, and other places with the bandit suppression troops led by Qu Bo, Chief of Staff and Deputy Political Commissar of the Second Regiment. He made repeated outstanding achievements and was awarded the title of "Combat Model" many times. The bandit suppression troops successively wiped out large groups of bandits led by Xu Damabang, Li Delin, Xie Wendong, and Ma Xishan. ⏳Visit time: Free admission, visit and pay respects for 1–2 hrs.
