🌄 Okryongsa Temple, the origin of Korean feng shui

I visited Gwangyang during my week-long stay. My visit was around May. The cultural guide at the entrance said the camellia flowers had all fallen and told me to come back again when they bloomed. Okryongsa Temple is said to be the first place in Korea to practice feng shui. Camellia trees were planted to improve the energy of the temple grounds, and over the millennium, they grew to be a grove of over 10,000 camellia trees. Even though the camellia flowers had all fallen, the air was so fresh that I walked for about 10 minutes, which was a real treat. When I finally arrived, the Okryongsa Temple site was very bare, and there was only a photo booth for people to take pictures with their faces. I took a quick walk, felt a thousand years of history, and then returned to the secular world.
