However, I managed to book a basic suite using 9,500 points, equivalent to a value of 2,000 CNY. This represented exceptional value, comparable to the great deals I've found on hotels in Paris and Japan. Outside of peak season and major events, the hotel's base room rates are very affordable. Even during the summer holidays, with advance planning, you can find base rooms for around 800 CNY, which is an excellent deal. Service: 5/10 - Overall Impression: The level of service provided by staff members varied. As a Globalist member, I received enthusiastic service from the front desk manager, and the room upgrade process was smooth. As long as rooms are available, they are generally willing to upgrade to a suite. However, regular front desk staff sometimes seemed indifferent. When I inquired about room upgrades, they would simply decline if no rooms were available, lacking warmth and enthusiasm. - 💗Other Tips: Mention your membership status upon check-in for potentially better service and room upgrade opportunities. Dining: 6/10 - Restaurant Options: The hotel offers a Western buffet restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and a hot pot buffet. - Breakfast Experience: The breakfast selection was standard, with decent flavors. The French toast was particularly delicious. Enjoying breakfast while overlooking the garden outside created a pleasant atmosphere. - Hot Pot Recommendation: The sour and spicy beef hot pot buffet is worth trying. It's appetizing, with freshly sliced beef. While the selection isn't extensive, it's a great option for sour and spicy beef hot pot lovers, at less than 200 CNY per person. - Other Dishes: The overall quality of the dishes is average. There are many restaurants on nearby Huizhan East Road, and it's close to the North Railway Station. Popular attractions like Huaguoyuan and Qingyun Market are accessible by taxi, but traffic can be heavy, resulting in longer travel times. - Design Style: The lobby is grand and impressive, decorated with traditional Miao silver ornaments. The crystal chandeliers resemble Miao headdresses, adding a unique touch. Guests can also dress up in Miao costumes and take photos against a backdrop, free of charge. Kweichow Moutai has a display area in the lobby, showcasing local specialties. - Outdoor Scenery: The hotel features a miniature replica of Huangguoshu Waterfall in its outdoor garden, which is open at set times. Conclusion The Zhongtian Guiyang Hyatt Regency, the only Hyatt hotel in Guizhou Province, is a long-standing luxury hotel. The owners clearly put effort into its management, but there's still room for improvement. If the price is right, it's a good value option for both business and leisure travelers in Guiyang. Hopefully, the hotel will continue to improve its services, update its facilities, and enhance its overall quality.
