Guanghan Confucian Temple (with a one-day tour plan in Guanghan, self-driving itinerary)

We booked the afternoon session and arrived in Guanghan early to play. 👍️Must-visit attractions: Guanghan Confucian Temple is a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. It was originally built during the Jiayou period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was later destroyed by war and gradually fell into disrepair and abandonment due to lack of maintenance over the years. It was rebuilt during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, and was expanded and repaired during the Xuande and Tianshun periods. It was repeatedly maintained during the Chenghua, Jiajing, Tianqi, and Chongzhen periods. It was rebuilt in the first year of Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, renovated in the eleventh year of Qianlong (1746), repaired in the third year of Jiaqing (1798), and the scale was doubled after the reconstruction in the seventeenth year of Jiaqing (1812). The entire architectural complex is well-arranged, structurally rigorous, majestic and beautiful, and exquisitely crafted. The five-bay stone lintel 'Lingxing Gate' in front of the Ji Gate is very spectacular, with rich patterns and fine carvings, and is considered a treasure of stone carving art in western Sichuan. The eighteen finely carved partition doors and windows and the six large hollow-carved cloud dragon stone pillars in the Dacheng Hall of Guanghan Confucian Temple are rare. The existing Lingxing Gate, Ji Gate, Dacheng Hall, Minghuan Shrine, and the east and west side halls all have high historical and artistic value.
