This is Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea.

This is Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Republic of Korea. It served as the royal castle of Ungjin Baekje from 475, when Baekje moved its capital to Gongju, until King Seong moved the capital to Buyeo in 538. It is connected to Gongju-si to the south, and borders the Geumgang River to the north. Most of the mountainous area, except for the southeast, has a steep slope, creating a natural fortress-like terrain with a folding screen. Important facilities, including the royal palace, were placed inside. These relics, which functioned as royal castles by installing the royal palace inside the mountain fortress, are evaluated as characteristic royal castle relics of Baekje.
