Sherwood Nature Reserve: A Mini Jungle Adventure

Sherwood Nature Reserve is located in the Woolgoolga area of New South Wales, Australia. The reserve is divided into two main sections. The first section is the Woolgoolga Creek Picnic Area. This area features a spacious lawn perfect for picnics. There are also barbecue facilities available, so you can purchase ingredients from a nearby store and enjoy grilling sausages on-site. The second section is the Waterfall Walk. This trail is surrounded by a forest of 92 different tree species, giving you the feeling of exploring a small jungle. The ultimate goal of the walk is to reach the waterfall, which is approximately 3.6 kilometers away. The trail is not particularly challenging, but there are some creek crossings along the way, so be cautious of slippery areas. When I visited, one downside was that there hadn't been much rain recently, so the creeks and waterfall had only a small amount of water. This spot is ideal for those on a road trip in Australia who are looking for a quick stop to rest. If you're feeling tired while driving, take a break here and recharge.
