Two Days in George Town: Street Art, Floating Villages & Nature

We spent two amazing days in George Town, exploring its vibrant streets, rich history, and stunning nature. Here’s what we did and some tips if you’re planning a visit! Day 1: Culture & History • Street Art Tour – We started by walking through George Town’s famous street art scene. The murals were impressive, and finding them felt like a fun scavenger hunt! Some, like “Kids on a Bicycle,” are interactive, so don’t forget to pose for a photo. • Clan Jetties – Next, we visited the iconic clan jetties, floating wooden villages built by Chinese settlers. We explored Chew Jetty, where we walked along the wooden pathways, admired the stilt houses, and enjoyed the peaceful waterfront views. • Buddhist Temple – We wrapped up the day at one of George Town’s beautiful Buddhist temples. The architecture and details were incredible, and it was a serene way to end the day. Day 2: Nature & Views • The Habitat at Penang Hill – We took the funicular up to Penang Hill and explored The Habitat, a stunning nature reserve with breathtaking views. Walking through the rainforest canopy was a highlight, and the Curtis Crest treetop walk gave us an amazing 360° view of the island. Tips for George Town: ✔️ Wear comfortable shoes – You’ll be walking a lot! ✔️ Start early – The heat and humidity can get intense by midday. ✔️ Use Grab or walk – Parking is tricky, and the best way to explore the old town is on foot. ✔️ Try the food – George Town is a food paradise!
