Shaanxi·Yan'an·Ganquan Grand Canyon

The Ganquan Grand Canyon is located in Yuchagou, Xiasiwan Town, Ganquan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is a red sandstone geological formation that has been shaped by millions of years of wind and sand cutting, as well as water dissolution and erosion. Distributed in clusters on the Loess Plateau of northern Shaanxi, it is a rare sight in China, known as the 'Natural Earth Fissure Wonder of the Loess Plateau'. The Ganquan Grand Canyon consists of 120 large and small canyons, where water, sunlight, and moss interweave, creating a kaleidoscope of light and shadow, and vibrant colors. Each canyon is a beautiful and moving picture. Due to the different water content of the red sandstone in different seasons, which affects its absorption and refraction of light, the Ganquan Grand Canyon displays different colors throughout the year.
