Fuzhou First Stop: Sanfang Qixiang

Sanfang Qixiang is known as the "Museum of Ming and Qing Architecture in China" and is home to the former residences of many famous people in modern history. A main street divides Sanfang Qixiang into east and west parts. The west is the "Fang" and the east is the "Xiang". The three "Fang" are Yijin Fang, Wenru Fang, and Guanglu Fang. The seven "Xiang" are Jipi Xiang, Gong Xiang, Anmin Xiang, Huang Xiang, Ta Xiang, Langguan Xiang, and Yangqiao Xiang. Walking horizontally through Sanfang Qixiang is a walk through history: Lin Zexu Memorial Hall, Bing Xin's Former Residence, Ye's Residence... Walking through the streets and alleys with white walls and gray tiles, you can feel the unique historical heritage of Fujian. Walking vertically, you can feel the commerce: the internet-famous heart tree, various special foods, and the modern atmosphere. Walking through the alleys, you can feel the ancient simplicity and grandeur of the ancient houses, as well as the smoke and tranquility. My first impression of Fuzhou is that it has a rich history and culture, well-preserved ancient houses, and a low-key, introverted, and grand city. I like this city!
