Fuzhou, a seriously underrated treasure trove of a tourist city

It was only after I went there that I realized that it is not only ancient and vibrant, but also a great place to visit. Stroll through the old and new city and feel the wind blowing from the Minjiang River. It is really a great place to visit on the weekend. 🗺️ Itinerary [Day 1] Check in at Sanbao Bindi Hotel ➡︎ Yantai Mountain (Check in at the most beautiful turn | Yanshu Tea Stall | Xun Baking Museum | Tangmo Tea Xi | Daji | Hot Crush) ➡︎ Sanfang Qixiang ➡︎ Love Tree ➡︎ Tongli Rouyan [Day 2] Mawei Shipyard Park (Check in at Shipyard Yamen | Shipyard Museum | Shipyard Bookstore) ➡︎ Xingxian Restaurant ➡︎ Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural District ➡︎ Fuzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall ➡︎ Xichan Temple ➡︎ Minfu Jiayan ❤️ During this trip to Fuzhou, I also attended the "Chinese New Year, Shared with the World" 2025 Global Travelers' Night, where there were many fun activities, such as making Fuzhou prints, sifting jasmine tea, visiting the park and stamping, and lacquerware exhibitions. I celebrated the New Year with friends from all over the world and listened to them share their stories of China, which was very meaningful. ❤️ 🚗 Transportation: High-speed trains go directly to [Fuzhou Station] and [Fuzhou South Station], both of which are not far from the city center. The subway, bus, and taxi are all very convenient and inexpensive. 🏨 Accommodation It is recommended to stay near Sanfang Qixiang, where there are many options and it is convenient to go anywhere. I stayed at Sanbao Bindi Hotel in Sanfang Qixiang, which is quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle. As soon as you enter the lobby, you can see a huge lacquerware work. The furniture in the public area and rooms is also very exquisite, mostly made of Burmese teak and red sandalwood. The rooms are simple and elegant, with a view in each room. The room I stayed in also had a tea room and a small courtyard. The hotel also offers a variety of guest experiences, such as lacquerware fans and Chinese beaded jewelry, so you can experience Fuzhou culture up close at the hotel. 🍜 Food Tongli Rouyan: Specializes in Rouyan, a century-old brand, with a large filling and a fresh taste. Minfu Jiayan: Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Potted Salad, Traditional Lychee Pork, Signature Seafood Braised Vermicelli, Taro Paste Xingxian Restaurant: Garlic-flavored Seafood, Xinghua Noodles, Lianjiang Fish Dumplings, Sturgeon Rice, Sizzling Snail Platter
