Visiting Changbai Mountain Ski Resort in summer is so much fun!

It was my first time at Changbai Mountain, and I discovered it's super fun even in summer! The weather right now is just perfect—not too hot or cold. We had a fully packed day and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend coming here—food, accommodation, and transportation are way cheaper than in peak season. ✔️ Accommodation: We stayed at the Wanda Jin Hua Hotel, which offers 4 major free benefits for guests. 1. Waku Lake Tour (9:00-17:30) There’s a lake near the hotel where you can ride duck paddle boats or water bikes. There’s also a tree-climbing experience, easier than rock climbing and perfect for beginners. Tickets cost around ¥158. 2. Mountain Leisure (9:00-16:30) This refers to the thrilling Zhengxi Toboggan Run, which can be enjoyed by two people together (speed is adjustable). 3. Hallasan Hot Springs About a 10-minute walk from the hotel. In the off-season, entry stops at 6:30 PM and closes at 7:20 PM. Not many pools are open, but it’s better than nothing. 4. Sightseeing Cable Car 🚡 (8:30-17:30) ✔️ If you visit, here’s our itinerary for reference: ➡️ After breakfast, head to the lake for boating (a short walk from the hotel) and try tree climbing. Boating is free for hotel guests (¥88/30 mins for non-guests); tree climbing costs ¥158. ➡️ Then walk to the Town Visitor Center (open 8:00-17:30) for mountain biking (8:00-17:00). A coach accompanies the ride, and the scenery is stunning—full of dandelions, like riding through a fairy tale. You can stop for photos. Mountain biking sessions are held twice daily (morning and afternoon) at ¥158 each. Alternatively, rent a bike for ¥58/2 hours. ➡️ Lunch: Try the local iron pot stew (chicken is great this season). Wild vegetables are also delicious. ➡️ Afternoon: Join the "Old Pa Tou’s Secret" hiking trail. The entrance is near the cable car behind the hotel, marked by a ginseng arch. The 4 km trail is easy with low elevation. We even got to dig up ginseng ourselves! ➡️ After hiking, ride the Zhengxi Toboggan Run. ➡️ Take the sightseeing shuttle back to the hotel after the toboggan. ➡️ Have an early dinner, then relax at Hallasan Hot Springs.
