Family Winter Trip to Changbai Mountain

Back from a family trip to Changbai Mountain, and I must say, I highly recommend it to everyone! Winter is the perfect time to bring your kids here! The snowy landscapes and hotels are absolutely stunning, rivaling even Switzerland! 🤩 Let your kids run wild in the soft snow, enjoy skiing, hot springs♨️, rime rafting, ice fishing🐟, snowmobiling, and more. Southern kids will have so much fun they won't want to leave! The activities are incredibly diverse, and both adults and kids will love them. I've already planned to bring my kids back this winter! 🥳 🏨 The Zhihe Hotel at Changbai Mountain is a must-stay: ✅ Over a dozen outdoor hot spring pools where you can soak while enjoying the snowy scenery. It's the ultimate romantic winter getaway without leaving the country! ❄️ ✅ Unique experiences like DIY iron pot stew, coal-shaped hot spring pools, and even a little yellow duck pool. The hotel really knows how to make it fun! You can even enjoy hot springs in your room to your heart's content. 💡 Tips for traveling with kids: 1️⃣ Always wear a hat for snow photos! Don't forget gloves and scarves🧣. The wind at Changbai Mountain is strong, which can mess up your look and make you feel cold. Choose fluffy or knitted hats for warmth and great photos. 2️⃣ Opt for high-top, non-slip snow boots, and consider buying a size larger for easier snow play. Off-white boots are versatile and warm. 🥾 3️⃣ If you're bringing a camera, protect the battery🔋. Keep it warm in your pocket when not in use to prevent it from freezing. 4️⃣ If it's your first time visiting or you're unfamiliar with the area, consider joining a family-friendly tour like we did. The routes are designed for families, making it easy to enjoy the highlights without hassle. 📅 Our 6-day itinerary: D1: Changchun ✔ Tried Northeastern delicacies: snowflake red bean paste, sweet and sour pork, grilled cold noodles. D2: Changchun - Lushuihe International Hunting Ground ✨ Experienced live shooting, explored the primeval forest for deer tracks🦌, and listened to stories from an old hunter. ✔ Cozy evening chats around the fire, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. 💕 D3: Lushuihe - Naitou Village - Erdaobaihe Town ✨ The rime rafting was breathtaking! ❄️ ✔ Enjoyed hotpot in a snow house🍲, played with snow tubes and snow bumper balls. The kids had a blast! ✔ Stayed at Zhihe Hotel and relaxed in the hot springs at night. D4: Erdaobaihe Town - Changbai Mountain North Scenic Area ✨ Climbed to the top of Changbai Mountain from the northern slope, saw Changbai Waterfall and the Juelong Hot Spring Cluster. 🏞 ✔ Had a hearty iron pot stew for dinner, perfect for warming up. D5: Changbai Mountain Skiing - Snow Ridge - Yanji ✨ Tried beginner-friendly ski slopes, and with a little help from the instructor, we were skiing in no time. ✔ Enjoyed snowmobiling, horse-drawn sledding, feeding reindeer, and watching them munch on moss. So adorable! 🦌 ✔ Ended the day feasting in Yanji! Kimchi, bibimbap, barbecue... a paradise for foodies. 😋 D6: Retro Tram - Return Trip ✨ Rode a tram to admire the snowy scenery❄️, learned to make kimchi, and enjoyed a traditional music performance🎵. We returned home completely satisfied!
