First experience skiing in Furano, Hokkaido

#Skiing I went skiing in Hokkaido for two consecutive years. Since I had no experience for the first time, I found a professional Chinese coach to teach our family of four at Furano Ski Resort. The coach is Taiwanese so there is absolutely no problem in communication. We chose to take a full-day course for five hours, and the lunch break is not included, so we have to take care of our own lunch. We arrived at the meeting place early in the morning to meet the coach. Since it was our first time at the ski resort, we were not familiar with the whole process. The coach accompanied us to rent ski equipment (we had our own snow suits so we didn't need to rent any), and also taught us how to wear the snowshoes and how to adjust them to be more comfortable. If there was any need to communicate with the rental staff in Japanese, the coach would also assist. After getting the equipment, we went directly to the practice area. The ski resort in Furano has a gentle slope for novices to practice, and there is a magic carpet next to it, which is a conveyor belt. It was really much easier with the magic carpet~ I got the hang of it very quickly that day and it was easy to complete the postures taught by the coach. In the afternoon, the coach hoped to take us on the cable car to experience sliding down the beginner slide, so that we had to learn the braking skills first, and only when we were proficient could we take the cable car up the mountain. Of course, he would also teach us how to get off the cable car, but I really didn't master it well. My brother and I fell on our backs the first time we got off the cable car, which was really funny. It actually takes courage to take the cable car. You can't keep staring down, otherwise you will be really scared. After all, the cable car is very empty and you are really afraid of accidentally falling down. When you reach the top of the beginner slide, you will be attracted by the beautiful scenery. The weather was very good that day and the view was very wide and you could see very far. I felt that it was fortunate that I had the opportunity to see this beautiful scenery. The coach took us all the way from the mountain and taught us to slide down the mountain slowly. In fact, some places are really steep and really scary. Mommy is really frustrated and sometimes can't stop, so in the end she chose to fall by herself, which is safer and also a rest. However, it is really not easy to stand up and put on the snowboard again after falling in a very steep place, and then to find the balance to continue sliding. Therefore, after falling three times in a row, she had to overcome her fear and had to give herself full courage. To be honest, the child is really super brave and doesn't seem to be afraid of speed at all. It slides super smoothly. The second time I got off the cable car, I paid attention to my skills and movements and didn't fall again. This time it was still a beginner's slide, but it was still divided into steep and gentler sides. This time the coach took us directly to the steeper side. Mommy was still very frustrated ~ I could only bite the bullet and slowly slide down the mountain. It did make me feel a lot more at ease with the coach around. After class, the elder brother still wanted to take the cable car up the mountain again. The coach encouraged him and said that it was no problem for him to ski by himself, but he didn’t dare to go up the mountain alone. Mommy thought about it and knew that she had rented the ski equipment and had just skied down smoothly. Besides, the cable car was free for children under 12 years old. So she gritted her teeth and accompanied the elder brother and sister to try it again. This time there was no coach to accompany them. Watching the children skiing very smoothly, they reached the halfway point of the mountain. Mommy was left far behind. It was so steep that she was scared. Mommy still fell once, but fortunately she stood up easily and found her balance this time. When I was on the mountain and couldn't go up or down, I felt so scared that I wanted to cry~ But I could only keep telling myself to be brave. At that moment, I just hoped to slide down the mountain quickly. I told myself that everything would be fine if I followed the coach's instructions. The children had already slid down smoothly. My brother went up twice by himself. He was really brave and kept sharing his skiing skills with us afterwards. I can only say that the younger you get, the faster you ski. Skiing is an extreme sport, and you need to overcome the sense of speed. But it really makes me feel happy to be able to take the cable car and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the mountain and slide down the mountain.
