You must visit Mount Emei many times in your life!

Mount Emei Travel Guide: Golden Summit Edition Here we come, Mount Emei! ❤️ 🔆 Foreword We took the high-speed train from Chengdu to Mount Emei (Chengdu East to Mount Emei, 1h 30min). Ignore any solicitors at the train station (many travel agencies promoting tours) and head straight to the bus stop. Take Bus No. 12 directly to the Mount Emei Tourist Bus Station or Baoguo Temple for just ¥1. Due to time constraints, we visited Baoguo Temple first, then walked back to the Mount Emei Tourist Bus Station to catch a bus to Leidongping (a 10-minute walk). 🔆 Mount Emei Tourist Bus Station → Leidongping The bus ride takes about 2 hours, with one stop along the way. If you get motion sickness, remember to use motion sickness patches or take medication in advance—the mountain road is winding and steep! Tickets can be purchased on-site, with buses departing hourly. Round-trip fare: ¥90. 🔆 Accommodation We stayed at the Mingshan Hotel in Leidongping. Honestly, the hotels in Leidongping are quite similar, and most rooms are underground. We visited in March when it was 0°C, but the floor heating kept us warm. The environment was decent overall, costing about ¥100 per person per night. 🔆 Dining We chose the popular Jinshan Restaurant from Dianping. The food was good—wild vegetables and bamboo shoots were especially fresh! 👌🏻 The cured sausages and ribs in Photo 7 were absolutely delicious! You can buy them during the day near the Leidongping bus station—highly recommended! 😋 🔆 Sunrise Viewing We set off at 6:30 AM to walk to the Golden Summit Cableway (30-minute walk). 🔅 There are two routes: One is a staircase (easier in summer, but icy when we went—I slipped and fell 😤). The other is the flat path shown in Photo 8 (no monkeys, the best route!). 🔅 Golden Summit Cableway → Jieyin Temple (3 min, ¥120 round-trip). The first cable car departs at 7:00 AM, so leave enough time for the hike. After the cable car, you’ll arrive at Jieyin Temple. The large platform in Photo 3 is the best spot to watch the sunrise! ❤️ 🔅 Golden Summit (Huazang Temple) From Jieyin Temple, hike further up to reach the Golden Summit at 3,079m. We were incredibly lucky and moved—we saw the dreamy sea of clouds, Sichuan blue skies, and the golden glow of the Buddha statue. So grateful! 🙏🏻 The distant Gongga Snow Mountain was solemn and breathtakingly beautiful. It was so stunning that we just wanted to stay longer and come back again. 💗 🔆 Tips The Golden Summit is at 3,099m. If you experience altitude sickness (rapid heartbeat, headache, difficulty breathing, etc.), visit the medical station. Prices in Leidongping are slightly higher, but buy a bamboo walking stick for ¥5—it’s worth it! In winter, bring your own anti-slip shoe covers (they’re a must!). The ones sold on-site cost ¥60. You can rent thick coats, but we brought our own lightweight down jackets, which worked fine. We didn’t encounter any monkeys because we were too scared and took the flat path back (Photo 8). Don’t forget to try a sip of Emei Snow (a local drink) while you’re here! 🌝 Check the weather before your trip and bring rain gear, sunglasses, etc. It had rained and snowed for a week before we arrived, so we were quite nervous. Truly grateful to the Buddha for the beautiful experience. 🙏🏻❤️ 🔆 Afterword There are travel agency promotions at the train station—choose based on your needs. The staff at the train station and cableway weren’t the friendliest, but the locals, like the bus drivers and shopkeepers, were very kind. Don’t hesitate to ask them for help! Due to time constraints, we didn’t explore other scenic spots in Mount Emei. We hope to visit again someday. ❤️ To see another sunrise—grateful! ❤️
