Badlands and dinosaurs

Drumheller is a town around 110km away from Calgary and is known for its quirky rock formations and massive dinosaur museum. If you drive, you should be there in a little more than an hour. Start your day off by visiting the hoodoos, which are weird rock formations that look they were stacked on top of each other. Be careful while visiting as these rocks were shaped after many years and so they are delicate. At the top of the hill is a lovely view of the vast surrounding badlands and prairies. Next head to the Royal Tyrrell Museum, which features a huge collection of dinosaur fossils and bones. It's very striking to see all of them in life size form and also to realize that they use to roam where you are standing. Whereas other museums usually feature a few select dinosaur fossils, this museum has a very varied collection. Overall, Drumheller is not to be missed.
