1985 UNESCO World Heritage Site, Derinkuyu, Turkey 😮

Inside Derinkuyu, there are churches, schools, kitchens, wells, and warehouses. In particular, round wheel-shaped stone gates were installed to block passages in case of emergency to prevent intrusion from the outside. It has been open to the public since 1965, and only about 10% of the total area is currently open. The ventilation system inside is still functioning, showing how sophisticated the construction techniques were at the time. Derinkuyu was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, and is one of the must-see attractions for travelers visiting the Cappadocia region. #June Travel Support Fund
