Yubeng Ice Lake to Nise Route: A High-Altitude Ice Lake Adventure

On the fourth day of our Yubeng trek, we'll take you on an unforgettable journey from Lower Yubeng Village to the high-altitude Ice Lake, then back along the Nise route. The entire journey is 17.6 km, offering a chance to challenge yourself and enjoy the stunning high-altitude scenery. Hiking Highlights: • Starting Point: Lower Yubeng Village (3,000 m), a quiet and mysterious village, is the starting point of the trek. • Highest Point: Ice Lake (3,891 m), a frozen lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains, showcasing the magnificence and wonder of nature. • Route Features: Pass through subalpine meadows, like walking into the magical forest of Harry Potter, surrounded by fir and red birch forests, with beautiful scenery. There is black ice on the stones along the way, adding excitement and fun to the hike. • Viewing Platform: There is a viewing platform 5 km away, where you can see Meili Snow Mountain and feel the grandeur of nature. • Despair Slope: The last uphill section is steep, but when you stand in front of the Ice Lake, all your fatigue will disappear. Itinerary: • Departure Time: Depart from Lower Yubeng Village at 8:30 am. It is recommended to have breakfast in advance or bring something to quickly replenish sugar to cope with the initial climb. • Route Changes: Pass through Upper Yubeng Village, subalpine meadows, Xiaonong Pass, Xiaonong Base Camp, and finally reach Ice Lake. • Special Reminder: There is black ice on the stones along the way, so be careful when walking. The last section of Despair Slope is steep, so be mentally prepared.
