Daocheng Yading: A Dreamy Trip to the Western Sichuan Plateau Daocheng Yading is a great place to take photos! The scenery is breathtaking. Unfortunately, I came at the wrong time, and many of the trees were withered. If you come in mid-October to early November, when the leaves are yellow and green, and the holy snow-capped mountains are in the background, the scenery is amazing! When I was there, I found that the road to Gongga Lake was closed, so I couldn't go to Milk Lake or Five Color Lake. I wanted to fly my drone over to take a video, but it was too windy that day, and the drone warned me that it might not be able to return if I flew it any further, so I had to give up. But that's okay, it gives me a reason to come back next time. I heard that there is a hiking trail near Shengshui Lake, so I'll plan a route for my next visit. I got off the bus at Shengshui Lake just to take some nice photos, and then walked all the way to Gongga Lake. I didn't have a serious reaction to the altitude, but it was still a tough walk. If you're just here to have fun, I recommend taking the shuttle bus to Luorong Pasture to save your energy. There are many local delicacies in Daocheng Yading. For example, qingke barley cakes have a light barley aroma and a crispy texture. Yak meat soup is made with tender beef and delicious broth. A bowl of soup will warm you up in the cold plateau. There are some things to keep in mind when visiting Daocheng Yading. First, be sure to bring oxygen tanks, glucose, chocolate, and cola, as these are "lifesavers" when you have altitude sickness. The weather on the plateau is unpredictable, so be sure to bring warm, waterproof clothes and shoes. In addition, the ecosystem in the scenic area is fragile, so don't pick flowers or damage the vegetation.
