Chasing Wisteria at Juun-ji

#cherryblossom25 Have you seen this gorgeous purple temple? Juun-ji, often called the Wisteria Temple, is home to 4 wisteria trees that are roughly 50 years old. Known as the Rokushaku Fuji (or 6-foot wisteria) for its flower clusters that drop 6-feet (1.8m), this rare cultivar is only found in a few select locations within Japan. So, many visitors come from near and far (even from outside of Tottori Prefecture!) to catch a glimpse of these gorgeous wisteria flower. Their prime viewing season is from late April to early May. Juun-ji is also host to the annual Fuji Matsuri in early May.
