#Overseas Travel Red Magic: A Spectacular Light Experience at Sunset and Sunrise The most compelling reason to visit the Grand Canyon is to witness the stunning hues of sunset and sunrise, bathing the entire canyon in a vibrant display of colors. I visited Hopi Point for sunset and Yavapai Point for sunrise. As the western sky turned orange, pink, and purple around sunset, the shadows cast across the canyon's peaks and walls instantly deepened, creating a dramatic contrast. Sunrise was especially dramatic. As the sun began to rise in the east, the canyon briefly took on a mystical blend of deep blue and red. Then, as the sunlight filtered down the deep canyon, step by step, it seemed to awaken the minerals in the rock layers. The moment when the countless peaks, bathed in light, turned golden was truly breathtaking. This feast of light further emphasized the depth of the canyon, and seemed to prove for itself why the Grand Canyon is called the 'Red Canyon'.
