Geopark Ciletuh

Ciletuh Geopark is full of amazing, huge waterfalls and stunning scenery. It's a 6 hour drive from Jakarta but you feel like you have entered an entirely different world. The air is clean, the hills are impressive and covered in dense foliage and there is good bird life throughout the region. Some of the waterfalls can be visited by just a short walk from your car while others offer 30-40 minute hikes for the more adventurous and fit. It's best to organize a local driver who knows the road conditions and where everything is to make sure you can make the most of your stay. We stayed at Ciletuh Hills which is a brand new resort right next to Curug Sodong and Cikanteh two of the finest waterfalls in the park and it has a few villa's with amazing views, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and high quality air condition. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a base to explore the park. They also organize very reasonably priced "Safari Tours" to the main attractions in the park using high clearance vehicles that will safely get you to any of the parks many destinations. This place is one of the few remaining true paradises in West Java. If you plan a visit avoid the weekend or long weekends if possible or else you might encounter crowds escaping Jakarta.
