┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ Introducing the spots I visited on my trip to Cambodia🇰🇭 ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ 📍Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport✈︎, the closest airport to Siem Reap, the city where the world heritage site Angkor Wat is located. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ A new airport that just opened in October 2023. ⚠︎Siem Reap International Airport (REP), which had been in use until then, was closed when the new airport began operation. During the flight▷ During the flight from Tan Son Nhat Airport in Vietnam, paper immigration cards were distributed one hour before landing. There are no Japanese items, so it will be smoother if you check the English notation of the hotel name and address. Because the flight time was short and we didn't gain much altitude, we could see the majestic nature, such as the Mekong River and the grasslands around Tonle Sap Lake, from inside the plane. 🌳 Disembarking▷ We arrived at Siem Reap New Airport almost on time. It was just sunset, and we could see the sun sinking into the horizon! There are a relatively large number of spots available, but since it has only just opened, there were no other planes, and it was a bit lonely. Immigration▷ It had only just opened a few weeks ago, so I was worried that the inspectors might not be used to it, but it was very smooth! The atmosphere was peaceful, with the officer telling us, "Is this your first time in Cambodia? Have fun!" and telling us about some recommended ruins. ☺︎ There were about five lanes open, and our flight was the only one that had arrived, so it only took about five minutes! We may have to line up if the number of flights increases in the future... Location▷ It takes about 1.5 hours by car to Siem Reap city. It's quite far away, but it seems that it was built intentionally so that aircraft vibrations would not affect the Angkor ruins. As of November 2011, there are only about one bus to Siem Reap every two hours🚌 If possible, I recommend reserving a hire car or shuttle. Other▷ They were selling SIM cards just outside the arrival lobby📱 I bought one because it was cheap at $5 for 15GB.
