Cheongju Date Spot: A Chicken Grill Restaurant Where They Cook for You

I finally visited Cheonggye, a place I was always curious about because it always seemed busy whenever I passed by! We went during the early evening, so there was no waiting, but by the time we finished and left, there was a line. The seating options included hall seats and counter seats. While the counter seats seemed a bit inconvenient as there was no place to put belongings, we liked the atmosphere of the counter seats and decided to sit there. We wanted to try a variety of dishes, so we initially ordered the 'Cheonggye Assorted Medium' and later added the thigh meat, which we were curious about. The 'Cheonggye Assorted Medium' includes thigh, tenderloin, neck, wings, drumsticks, heart, and gizzard. The thigh meat was thick and came partially cooked, while the other parts looked fresh even at a glance. The tenderloin, in particular, was delicious. They explained that it’s a part often eaten raw, so they cooked it lightly. Even though it wasn’t fully cooked, it wasn’t fishy at all and was incredibly tender and tasty! They explained each part and cooked it perfectly for us, so all we had to do was eat. This allowed us to focus entirely on our conversation, which was wonderful. (Adding garlic roe is a must... The Cheonggye ramen was so-so...) We had such a great time enjoying the delicious food in a lovely atmosphere at Cheonggye. Since they even grill each green onion for you, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a date spot in Cheongju!
