The Afternoon Breeze and Smiles Among the Silver Grass

September 26, 2025 - Afternoon Visit We are travelers from Taiwan. The "Seongnae Bangjuk" within Sangdang Sanseong in Cheongju is a delightful spot for a leisurely stroll. The entire atmosphere is serene and relaxing. From the entrance, a stone-paved path stretches through tall silver grass, with sunlight gently sprinkling golden hues on the grass tips. Along the way, you can hear the sound of the wind, the chirping of insects, and distant bird calls, as if stepping into a small world isolated from the city. We chose to visit in the afternoon that day, when the sunlight was soft, and the breeze carried a hint of autumn's fragrance. As we walked, we came across wooden pavilions and resting benches where one could sit down to chat, take photos, or simply gaze quietly at the distant mountains. The view here is expansive, with greenery and mountain scenery intertwined, giving a sense of rejuvenation with every deep breath. What we loved most was the "comfort" of this place—there are no excessive commercial facilities, nor are there crowds of tourists, just pure nature and the flow of time. This kind of ambiance makes you want to linger a little longer. When the wind sweeps through the reeds, the entire grassland seems to dance with the breeze, creating a truly beautiful scene. We took many photos during this visit—some blowing dandelions, some sitting quietly on benches, and others simply looking up at the sky. Every corner here captures the gentlest moments of life. I think, if given the chance, I would love to visit again in different seasons—spring's fresh green, summer's lush shade, autumn's golden hues, and winter's tranquil white would each present a completely different charm. Cheongju's "Seongnae Bangjuk" is a place worth revisiting time and again.
