Take a tour around the Panchen Lama's Summer Palace

The Xumi Fushou Temple was built in the 45th year of Qianlong's reign (1780) by Emperor Qianlong for the visiting Tibetan political and religious leader, the Sixth Panchen Lama, modeled after the Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse, Tibet. It served as the residence for the Sixth Panchen Lama, commonly known as the 'Panchen Lama's Summer Palace'. 'Xumi Fushou' signifies blessings and longevity as abundant as Mount Sumeru. Facing south with its back to the north, it covers an area of 37,900 square meters. Divided into two parts by a glazed archway, the front part follows the central axis with a mountain gate, stele pavilion, and the glazed archway, showcasing the Han architectural style; the back part features the Tibetan style, with the main building being the Great Red Terrace. Its main hall, the Miao Gao Zang Yan Hall, is topped with gilded tiles, and to the north of the Great Red Terrace, following the slope of the mountain, are the Auspicious Dharma Joy, Source of All Dharma, Jin He Tang, Heart of Joy, and the Glazed Longevity Pagoda. The entire temple complex highlights a unique architectural style that combines Han and Tibetan elements. The location is right next to the temple commonly referred to as the 'Little Potala Palace', the Putuo Zongcheng Temple. Admission to this site is included with the ticket for the 'Little Potala Palace'. In keeping with the principle of making the most of one's visit, one can go in for a look around.
